From Race Track to Relay Track

After a day at Arlington, the afternoon and evening was spent with Relay for Life /American Cancer Society...off with the heels, on with the t-shirts!

I had the opportunity to work with Alesa and Sue at the Web Cam Shots Tent, where we set up computers for our participants to take a picture and write to congress about why ACS and Relay for Life is Vital, and how we need to do everything we can to aid in early detection and covering financial needs of sufferers and survivors. Many go bankrupt in an effort to live...literally! We not only went past our number goal for that, but the Gurnee/Wadsworth Relay for Life has officially raised One Million Dollars to aid in the efforts of ACS since beginning in the area!

I also got to meet up with my ladies I'll be working with specifically for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer effort. How great to add the Lake County Affiliate along with the Chicagoland Affiliate work!

Special Thanks to Kari for working on the event and allowing me the opportunity to serve, to Alesa and Sue for not only being invested in a great cause, but being invested in the people you work with. To Carol and Sarah, I look forward to what we have planned next with "Making Strides!" You are all beautiful inside and out and such blessings! You are making a difference and leading by example!

-The Miss Relay for Life Pageant Contestants...I'm sure you can figure this one out...they raised a lot of money getting "vote donations"...that was a hoot!
